HISTORY IN 3D creates a series of ‘walking tour’ videos along the ancient Rome!

We’re getting back to active work, and soon the website will feature many new and interesting publications, both about the progress of our project and about Rome in general.

We’ve also resumed publishing videos on YouTube. I suggest you check out two recent videos that have already sparked interest. They’re made in the format of a street walk, following popular routes in ancient Rome.

The first video is a walk from the Baths of Caracalla to the Pantheon, through the center of the ancient city. The city is presented as it was in the second half of the 4th century, during the visit of Emperor Constantius II.

The second video is a route from Porta Flaminia (where Piazza del Popolo is now) all the way to Capitoline Hill, along Via Lata (now Via del Corso). It’s likely that this is the route that Emperor Diocletian took to enter the city during the Decennalia celebrations in 303.
